GL made a name for himself in Visayas’ hip-hop scene by participating in underground battle leagues. He then competed at the 2018 Process of Illumination event in Cebu and won the championship. His first match took place at Gubat 8 against Pen Pluma. Despite losing the aforementioned battle, the fans and emcees applauded his incredible performance.

Since his debut, GL has been gaining not only more wins but more supporters as well. Apart from his extensive vocabulary, he also quickly became known for his intelligent, well-constructed angles. Unpredictable is the word that best describes his rapping style.
