On Second Sight 14, Anygma announced the next three FlipTop events. The first two are Zoning 18 (May 24, 2025) and Zoning 19 (May 31, 2025). They will be held at Takeover Lounge in Katipunan. The league goes back to the small room vibe, and despite having no Isabuhay matches in the lineup, hardcore battle rap fans know that these affairs are still must-see. If you’re still not convinced, let us tell you who you should check these out live.

Firstly, there’s something truly special about small room battles. Just ask the fans who’ve watched Won Minutes and/or early FlipTop events, and they’ll tell you it’s an unforgettable experience. An intimate venue gets us closer to the matchups, making us feel the raw energy of the emcees more, as compared to the big spots. The setting also gives us easier access to complex lines, references, and metaphors, which may take a little longer to digest when it’s on a huge stage. It’s something that you should experience yourself to fully appreciate it.

While it’s been getting enough love from the fanbase, the battles of Zoning 18 and 19 also had their fair share of vocal detractors. It’s the usual reasons: no “old gods” or popular names, and no dream matches. Again, here’s a reminder that everyone, including your current idols, started out as rookies and unknowns. One of the best examples is the lineup for Ahon 6 Day 3. Upon release, it was met with the usual negativity, but some of the names involved in that event include EJ Power, Lhipkram, Hazky, Jonas, Poison13, and Mhot. Look at them now! Each one made a significant impact on the hip-hop scene. If you really support the culture, you should keep an open mind to talent from all corners. There’s a huge chance you’re going to see future Isabuhay and Dos Por Dos Champs and musical legends here. The veterans who will be battling at Zoning 18 and 19 should also not be underestimated at all. Expect them to exceed their previous performances and cement their legacies as top-tier rappers.

For those who are unfamiliar with or know little about the emcees in the lineup, you’re in for an exciting ride. Why is that? Each battle is more unpredictable, and you will be treated to a buffet of rapping styles that you might get hooked on. It’s like going in blind to a movie that will eventually become a classic. You will have no biases, and surely, you will end up with new favorites.

So are you interested now? Pre-sale tickets cost 500 pesos, and you can purchase them by sending a private message to FlipTop’s FB page or by visiting Baraks in Mandaluyong (Google Map: Baraks). As for the walk-in rate, it’s 850 pesos.  Since it’s a smaller venue, there are only limited tickets available, so we suggest you get yours now. There’s one free beer included for every ticket. We hope to see you on May 24 and 31 for Zoning 18 and 19. FlipTop, make some noise!
