What a year! These are the local hip-hop albums and EPs released in 2025.

2025 has come and gone, and what a year it was for Philippine hip-hop. Local battle rap as a whole remains very strong, providing us with plenty of game-changing matches and performances from veterans and up-and-comers alike. We’ll discuss more about the battle scene on the next articles, because for now, we’ll focus on the music side of things, which also dominated the airwaves.
Here are the Pinoy hip-hop albums and EPs released this year. If there’s something missing from the list, please inform us in the comments section and apologies in advance. The entries are listed in alphabetical order, so no need to argue about rankings. They’re all worth checking out. Let’s begin!

After all these years, A$tro is still a force to be reckoned with in the local scene. His latest album “Solo” is another testament to his mesmerizing lyrics and delivery. He keeps it real in his verses while proving he can rhyme on any instrumental, whether it’s hard-hitting, laidback, or fast-paced.

“Nothing to Declare” is Bambu’s latest EP to be released under Uprising Records. It was written and recorded in two days during his visit to Manila while Typhoon Uwan was ravaging different parts of the country. Using his powerful delivery and confrontational lyricism, Bambu addressed the rampant corruption related to flood control projects in the Philippines.
Bambu - "They're Burning the Boats"

A month before “Nothing to Declare”, Bambu released a full-length album titled “They’re Burning the Boats” under Beatrock Music. He used Hernan Cortes’ inhuman legacy as a metaphor for today’s abusive system. As always, through impeccable rhyming and delivery, Bambu showed us the grim reality of the world.

Batas aka Ginoong Rodriguez puts down his mic for a while and picks up his guitar to form the band Damuncheez. Joining him are Opdabot on bass, DJ Ben on turntables, and Chec and sOUNDpLANET on the MPCs. In their debut instrumental EP titled “Damu”, they paid tribute to the golden age of hip-hop that will certainly leave you head nodding throughout.
Death Threat - "The Last Chapter (Side A)"

After over two decades, the pioneers of Philippine gangsta rap are back with a new record. “The Last Chapter (Side A)” sees Death Threat in full force, spitting their hardest verses to date. The album stays true to the group’s hardcore roots while combining old and new school vibes on the beats.
Dongalo Wreckords – R.A.P. 30th

To commemorate the 30th anniversary of R.A.P 1st Issue, Dongalo Wreckords not only held a historic concert at Music Museum, but also released a special edition three-CD album. “To the 1st Power” is the debut solo album of hard-hitting battle emcee EJ Power. Here, he unleashed his creativity on various topics while maintaining his elite pen game. Aside from rap skills, “To the 1st Power” also gave EJ an opportunity to show his remarkable singing voice.

Ex Battalion is back with a new album titled “Best Seller”. The supergroup proved they still got it by showcasing their flawless melodic rapping and flair for creative songwriting. The lyrics, as with their previous hits, remain captivating, and each member had the chance to shine.

Flow G’s highly anticipated solo album finally arrived in 2025. “247” sees the artist in top form as he flexes both his impeccable rapping ang singing. His hooks remain catchy, and he proved yet again that he can make the biggest hits on any beat. The long wait for this project was indeed worth it.
Ginoong Rodriguez (Batas) - "44thComing"

In “44thComing”, Batas changed his moniker to Ginoong Rodriguez. The EP sees a more human and vulnerable side of the two-time Isabuhay Champion as he talks about personal struggles and how he overcame them. Despite the change in creative direction, Ginoong Rodriguez still showcased his intricate rhyme schemes and flow.

“Limahid” is the debut solo EP of Goriong Talas. It features his trademark raw aggression, complex rhyming, and remarkable flow. His battle-oriented tracks remain solid, but listeners were also fascinated by Gorio’s elite storytelling skills. Indeed, the project showed his evolution as an artist.

Bisaya hip-hop OG and No Pets Allowed member Hero Tunguia surprised his fans with the release of his full-length solo album “Juice Kolord”. For this project, he collaborated with renowned producer ACK. Hero’s creative lyricism and energetic delivery worked really well with ACK’s diverse production.

Underground rap duo IWA made an epic comeback in 2025 with a new LP titled “Panahon”. Inkubus’ rhymes and delivery stay sharp and Hirui’s beats are heavier than ever. With its ruthless and confrontational tone, “Panahon” is the perfect album for fans of hardcore hip-hop.
Jon Protege - "The Wiseman, The Mirror, & The Shadow"

The English Conference legend returns with his second solo LP “The Wiseman, The Mirror, & The Shadow”. While Jon Protege may be inactive in battle rap, his lyricism and flow remain flawless. In the album, he shares stories about his personal life and hip-hop career and how it made him grow as a person.
Leagueofpaul - "Sound Acrobatics"

“Sound Acrobatics” is a compilation album from respected underground beatsmith LeagueofPaul. He collaborated with various emcees, from beloved veterans to the most promising names, to create bangers that will immediately make your bob your head. “Sound Acrobatics” focuses on the rugged boom bap sound while integrating some new school flavor.
Lionmouth - "Konkretong Gubat"

“Konkretong Gubat” is the debut album of promising underground emcee Lionmouth. The Tabakk member takes you to a trip through the chaotic city, which closely resembles the jungle. Lionmouth’s storytelling skills and rhyming ability, combined with the grimy boom bap sound, are sure to astound you.
Moki McFly - "Currencies of Silence"

After releasing a few experimental projects, Moki McFly aka Apo Lerma goes back to his hip-hop roots with “Currencies of Silence”. The beats feature a boom bap sound brilliantly mixed with elements of jazz and voice samples that reflect today’s reality. It will make you nod your head, and at the same time, think.

“Harbinger” is another solo release from beatsmith Moki McFly. Just like “Currencies of Silence”, it’s a hip-hop instrumental project, but this time, the boom bap beats are fused with gritty, leftfield vibes. If you want the perfect example of the underground sound, this is for you.

Santo proves once again why he’s one of the most respected lyricists in the underground with his new album “Sage Mode”. He continues to be innovative not only on his bars and flow, but also on crafting song concepts. Musically, the album has a perfect balance of traditional and modern hip-hop.

2025 saw the much-awaited debut solo project of Sayadd. “Siya” takes you on a first-class trip into Sayadd’s surreal world. He shares his deepest thoughts through lucid imagery, razor-sharp vocabulary, and grim instrumentals. Of course, it won’t be complete without his beloved sinister voice
Smugglaz - "SOUNDTRACK SA PELIKULA"

The respected veteran Smugglaz released a new solo EP in 2025 titled “SOUNDTRACK SA PELIKULA”. It’s a journey through the emcee’s life, which as the name states, is just like the movies. Smugglaz tackled various topics and rhyming styles while effortlessly showcasing his awe-inspiring flow, melody, and writing ability.
Tha Green House - "Backyard Biznez"

“Backyard Biznez” is the much-awaited debut album of Binangonan group Tha Green House. Frooz and co. proudly represented their rugged street style throughout on infectious beats, which are inspired by West Coast hip-hop. Apart from the hardcore jams, the LP also has club bangers and chill tracks.

Tomy Montana gave us a different type of gangsta rap in his solo album “4 tha Bloc”. His swagger, lyrical skill, and singing ability remain incredible, but instead of the usual braggadocio and violent content expected in the genre, Tomy kept it laidback. He sang about life in the hood in a refreshingly positive way.

Yuniko is known for his aggressive performances in battle rap, but in his debut album, he showed a different side of him. “Buti Nalang” sees the 2018 Process of Illumination Champ rap about staying calm and just enjoying life. Nevertheless, he made sure to display his top-tier lyricism on every track.

“Rosas” is another solid solo release from an Ex Battalion member. Yuridope perfectly blends rap with r&b, and his evolution as a songwriter is very evident here. The album is once again proof of Ex B’s undeniable skill in making the catchiest and most creative pop hits.
