At Write Off Way last weekend, we’ve witnessed the conclusion of the quarterfinals of the highly acclaimed Langit Lupa Tournament. Each match was a top contender for battle of the year, and as we move to the next chapter, the competition will certainly get even more exciting and unpredictable. From 16, we are now down to four emcees. Let’s talk about the remaining competitors in this epic competition.

Si7ick
Armed with raw aggression, vivid imagery, and razor-sharp lines, it’s no surprise to see the immediate ascent of Si7ick. At the quarterfinals, he defeated the favorite Jabo in a close match, making him a legitimate a threat on the next round. As long as he stays consistent and continue to showcase innovative concepts, we may see him move on to the finals. We’re looking forward to his next performance!
Blitzen
Blitzen arguably has the strongest delivery in the lineup. Apart from that, no one can deny the impact of his angles, references, and haymakers. He managed to defeat Johndelo in a classic style clash at the quarterfinals. His ability to meticulously break down the overall style of his opponents make him a dangerous emcee. If he comes in more prepared in the semis, he will certainly be a problem.
Diddle
He’s the crowd favorite in the tournament, and after his performance in the quarterfinals, Diddle will surely gain more fans. His battle with Mison was solid throughout, and he showed a few unique schemes and concepts while maintaining his strong presence and versatile lyrical skill. He also countered his opponent’s best angles. On the next round, if he manages to exceed his previous performance, he may get the W!
Steven
Steven is considered the dark horse of Langit Lupa. At the quarterfinals, he won against Baltz (another fan favorite) in a back-and-forth bout. Aside from his powerful delivery and well-rounded pen game, Steven’s concepts, flow, and confidence are also very effective. He shocked us all once, and he can do it again. Steven is unstoppable when he brings his A-game, and for sure, he will bring it again in the semis.

It had some doubters upon its announcement, but Langit Lupa quickly turned into a must-see tournament in Philippine battle rap. Never underestimate a lineup!
